I have helped people communicate clear and commanding messages for more than a decade. I’ve written speeches and opinion pieces, run news conferences, developed publications, and blogged for political campaigns, non-profit organizations, unions and elected officials. For six years, I worked in the City Hall office of Los Angeles Councilmember Eric Garcetti, directing the office's communication strategy as Garcetti rose to the council presidency. In addition to representing the Council President to national and local media organizations, I also developed one of the nation's first elected-official blogs and co-wrote humorous songs for political roasts.

I am a graduate of Yale University and Deep Springs College. In addition to communications work, my experience includes union and community organizing, corporate research, legislative and economic development strategy, and the operation of a very small dairy. A full résumé is available by request.
